If you haven't already noticed, I've really been enjoying writing about and taking pictures of my food lately. Tonight I ate a great little Mexican place in Berkeley called Comal. I'd been wanting to go there ever since I saw it (mostly because it looks really like Bear, which is one of my favourites in Dublin), and tonight Peter and I finally decided to give it a try.
Firstly, we ordered yukka fries with chipotle aioli ($6) to share. I'd never eaten the yukka plant before (or even heard of anyone else eating it, for that matter) and the fries were absolutely delicious, with the dip complimenting them perfectly. I really could have finished off the dip with no fries if it would have been socially acceptable to lick the remainder out of the bowl (too bad for me).
For my main course, I ordered wood-grilled rock cod tacos with spicy pickled cabbage and avocado aioli ($12), and Peter ordered Sanger Farm duck enchiladas with mole coloradito ($14). Though both of the mains appeared quite small when they arrived, we agreed that they were a lot more filling than we thought they would be. However, we did both feel that Comal was over-priced for what we actually got. The total bill came to over $30, and when eating out in America, you also have to factor in the obligated tip. While I would probably return to Comal for a treat, some of the cheaper Mexican places I have been to have been every bit as good, and it was by no means amazing.
I hope you guys enjoy reading food posts as much as I enjoy taking photos for and writing them. I am aware that my recent posts have had nothing to do with fashion or beauty, and I'd like to take this opportunity to tell you all that starting this summer, I am hoping to take my blog in a completely different direction, which you can read about fully in the 'about' section of my blog. I am open to suggestions or opinions, and I want you all to know that I am very thankful for all of my loyal readers. I will still be writing about fashion and beauty among other topics because clothing will always be one of my main interests, but I do want to widen my options as far as blog posts are concerned. Hope you are all enjoying the summer.

looks delish!
